Because it was just announced yesterday. They haven't said what day it's happened yet.
August is a craptastic month for metal.

Deadline Looms for Famous New York Club By LARRY McSHANE, Associated Press Writer Mon Aug 22, 2:57 PM ET
NEW YORK - Hilly Kristal opened CBGB's in December 1973, envisioning a home on the Bowery for country music. And then the punks took over. The Ramones. Blondie. Talking Heads. Television. They all launched their careers on the cramped stage at Kristal's low-maintenance club, which became the mid-1970s epicenter for a musical revolution and still rocks on three decades later.
But it may be time for the last (slam) dance at the storefront bar with its familiar white awning. The club's lease expires on Aug. 31; a longstanding rent dispute could persuade the landlord, the Bowery Residents' Committee, to shut down the venerable birthplace of punk and find a new tenant.
Negotiations were ongoing over the new lease, with high-profile rockers Little Steven Van Zandt and Blondie's Debbie Harry coming to the aid of Kristal and the club. And although CBGB's won a recent court decision regarding its back rent, there's no guarantee that a new deal will be reached.
For now, the club's walls remain covered with band stickers and posters testifying to CBGB's long musical legacy. And even if it goes out of business, the club with its capacity of 350 people provided years of memorable moments.
On the other hand, as the late New York Dolls guitarist Johnny Thunders once observed:
"You can't put your arms around a memory."

In Memoriam: Steven "Stevo" Jensen of the Vandals (1959-2005) Former Vandals lead singer Steven "Stevo" Jensen passed away at his home on the island of Maui last weekend due to causes as yet unknown.
Jensen sang for the Vandals from 1980 through 1984, appearing on the band's first two full-lengths, Peace Through Vandalism and When In Rome Do As The Vandals before being replaced by current vocalist Dave Quackenbush.
Guitarist Jan Nils Ackermann had the following to say:
First as his friend and then as his bandmate, I noticed that whoever met Stevo was touched by his unique sense of humor and talent for entertaining. Trust me...there was nothing he wouldn't do for a laugh. I was constantly surprised and entertained by Stevo, even at our own shows. Stevo was a great friend and an outstanding entertainer. Anybody who came to our shows knew that. The Vandals of the Stevo years (1980-84) stood for nothing more than having a good time and poking a little fun at such a serious and confusing world. Stevo's Vandals had no dogma, no agenda, no anger, and no greed... Stevo was an inspiration to me and was always our friend...always. On behalf of myself and Vandals bassist Steve "Human"Pfauter, we extend our sincere condolences to Stevo's parents and family.Long Live Stevo...Anarchy Burgers for everyone! Services will be held in both Maui and Los Angeles, CA.

Talking Heads Refurbish Catalog For DualDisc By Jonathan Cohen, N.Y.
The Talking Heads have expanded their eight studio albums with previously unreleased content for their release as DualDiscs. Due Oct. 4 via Rhino, the sets will be packaged together in a white molded plastic box that holds eight jewel cases. Each album has also been remastered by Talking Heads keyboardist Jerry Harrison.
The group's 1977 debut, the appropriately named "Talking Heads: 77," will include a 5.1 mix of a previously unreleased acoustic version of "Psycho Killer" and an alternate 5.1 mix of "Uh-Oh, Love Comes to Town." The DVD side sports a live clip of "Pulled Up" taped in 1978 in Berkeley, Calif., and "I Feel It in My Heart" shot in 1976 at New York's now-defunct the Kitchen.
The follow-up, "More Songs About Buildings and Food," is bolstered by alternate versions of "The Big Country," "I'm Not in Love" and "Thank You for Sending Me an Angel," as well as a "1977 version" of "Stay Hungry." The DVD pulls "Warning Sign" from the aforementioned Berkeley show plus "Found a Job" from a 1978 gig at New York's Entermedia Theatre.
Best known for "Cities" and "Life During Wartime," 1979's "Fear of Music" is expanded here with alternate versions of those tracks as well as "Mind," and an unfinished outtake of "Dancing for Money." The DVD side includes performances of "Cities" and "I Zimba" from the German TV show "Rockpop" in 1980.
"Remain in Light" is beefed up with four unfinished outtakes: "Fela's Riff," "Unison," "Double Groove" and "Right Start." "Rockpop" performances of "Once in a Lifetime" and "Crosseyed and Painless" are utilized for the DVD side. The 1983 album "Speaking in Tongues" features an alternate 5.1 mix of "Burning Down the House" as well as videos for that tune and "This Must Be the Place (Naïve Melody)."
"Little Creatures" is filled out with previously unreleased early versions of its most notable tracks, "Road to Nowhere" and "And She Was," plus videos for both songs. The 1986 companion to "True Stories," directed by Heads vocalist David Byrne, includes a bonus Pop Staples Vocal Version 5.1 mix of "Papa Legba" and videos for "Wild Wild Life" and "Love for Sale."
The Heads' final studio album, "Naked," tacks on a 5.1 mix of "Sax and Violins" as well as its video and a clip for "Blind."
As previously reported, the Talking Heads and the spin-off group the Tom Tom Club are represented on the Sire Records box set "Just Say Sire," due Sept. 13 via Rhino.

Pearl Jam Goes Digital For Live Bootleg Series By Jonathan Cohen, N.Y.
Already at the forefront of issuing authorized "live bootlegs" of its shows, Pearl Jam will on Sept. 1 launch its own digital download store via its official Web site. Hours after their completion, full concerts from the group's fall tour will be available for $9.99 as 192K MP3s, which are nearly 50% higher than the standard bit rate.
Each show will feature special artwork; a slide show with photos from the performance will run while the files download. The initial plan is to make all of Pearl Jam's upcoming shows in Canada and the United States available to download, excluding an Aug. 29 concert in Missoula, Mont., that is doubling as a political fundraiser for U.S. senate hopeful Jon Tester
As with past incarnations of the bootlegs, which were initially available only on CD, the material will be mixed on the fly by longtime Pearl Jam engineer Brett Eliason. Eliason's company, Basecamp Productions, also developed the software to power the download store.
The idea to embark on such an endeavor has been floating around the Pearl Jam camp for several years. "The thing we were looking for was a really good way to manage the thing," Tim Bierman, manager of Pearl Jam's Ten Club fan organization, tells Billboard.com. "That's where Basecamp came in. They developed a killer application I'm really confident the fans are going to love."
In an interesting twist, the files will be encoded without DRM (digital rights management) restrictions, allowing them to be burned to CD and transferred to portable MP3 players. Select material will also be available from such digital services as the iTunes music store.
Bierman says plans are not finalized for a potential CD component of the bootleg series, but acknowledges, "we may make a limited number of the best shows from the tour available on CD via the Ten Club. We're going to wait to hear back from the fans about how the system is going so far."
During a recent round of beta testing of the initiative, a live version of "Rats" from a 1994 show in Boston was made available for download. Could that portend the release of vintage shows from the archive?
"Down the road, we're also planning, based on fan feedback, a program that would dip into the vaults and find some of those great shows," Bierman enthuses. "That's the beauty of having Brett involved. Not only do we have the input from the fans, but we have the input of the guy who has been there the whole time."
Since launching in 2000, Pearl Jam has sold more than 3 million copies of shows from the bootleg series, according to a spokesperson.
