What did you guys do in LA? Did you guys do the whole tourist thing? The thing about LA that I might miss is that there is always somewhere to go....even though the people may suck when you get there, there are still a shitload of places to go. And there were a bunch of small venues, bars, coffee places, and theaters....so there was always a show somewhere....but eh.
Haight Ashbury, Telegraph, and Golden Gate Park make up for the lack of live entertainment.

Drove down to Beverly Hills, and up and down Sunset Blvd., and Hollywood Blvd., and Rodeo Drive. Shit like that. Saw the Chinese Theater. Didn't get out of the car, just drove around. Dude, there are so many damn places to go there...I agree. It's packed. That's one good thing I noticed about L.A. is that you can obviously always find something to do. That's a good thing. Telegraph? Um. Went to Golden Gate Park. Haight Ashbury is cool, like I've told you before. Nice shops. I am jealous. We hung out down at the wharf a lot. Tourist! Haha.

Telegraph is a street in Berkeley....its like college student/hippie Land....sidewalk vendors, some really great vegetarian restaurants, the original Amoeba records, tattoo/piercing parlors.... its just a colorful fun crazy area...kinda like Melrose in LA. I like going to Golden Gate Park just to relax....sit somewhere and read or just lay there....yeah...good times. and well yeah....Haight Ashbury......yeah. haha...you guys didn't get out of the car? that's funny, but such a good decision...especially in the Beverly Hills/Hollywood area. People there are just plain psycho.

Ohhhhh. Never heard of Telegraph, but it sounds really neat. Maybe I'll go there sometime in the future. Street vendors are fun. Right when you said that I just thought of Venice Beach...even though I doubt it's anything like that. Amoeba Records? Isn't there where you worked? Or...do work...or something. Nope, didn't get out of the car. It was basically a half hour traverse through those L.A. parts and then back out on the highway. Nothing special. Yeah, so I've heard about the psycho people. Ha.

Venice Beach - all the annoying people on rollerblades + smoke shops + fetish shops - Beach = Telegraph (sort of)
yeah...I used to work at the Amoeba in Hollywood (hey you guys probably drove right past it....it's on Sunset)...the one on Telegraph is the original store....they have practically every genre of music..I mean EVERY, it's crazy....but I decided not to get a transfer to the Berkeley store...just because I'm too damned busy already.
It's too bad you guys didn't get to stay in LA just a little bit longer....there are some great places just outside of the whole "Rodeo Dr/Sunset/Hollywood" area that I think you might have liked. Old Town Pasadena, parts of Santa Monica, Downtown LA.....next time you come over....email me and I'll help you out with some good places to go.
whoa...yeah...this is long...I'm going to go kick Kelly Osbournes ass now.....adios.

Ha. Damn those annoying people on rollerblades on Venice Beach. They were annoying. Not to mention all the people on bikes and boards and shit like that. Hm. Again, I say that I think that Telegraph sounds very cool. From what you say, anyway. I will have to check it out when or if I ever go back to SF.
I thought I remembered you saying that you worked at Amoeba. Cool. Yeah! I remember driving past an Amoeba Records down in L.A. That was where you worked, eh? Nice. The Amoeba Records on Telegraph sounds good. EVERY genre, huh? That is crazy. But yet oh so great...and somewhat organized.
Great. Next time I hop on over to the L.A. area, I'll let you know so that you can tell me some good places to go. And yes, I'll be getting out of the car next time. Ha.
