The Road of Lost Innocence: The True Story of a Cambodian Heroine by Somaly Mam. This book is really sad and depressing. It's about the author's horrific past of being a young sex slave since 14 (by force) and enduring the abuse, rape and racism (she's dark-skinned, so she was discriminated against different clans and other Cambodians) from "family", clients, and pimps. She enventually escapes from prostitution in Cambodia (which is extremely hard and could be fatal) and begins to lead a better life for herself and returning the favor and helping other Cambodian girls and Southeast Asians escape sex slavery. I'm about midway in the book. Have to read it for Women's Studies class. But so far it is very good, just.... gah! sickening.

It's a shame she was labeled "ugly" and "barbaric" because she was dark-skinned. She's soo pretty.
