blogthings.com/whattypeofartareyouquiz/ You Are a PaintingYou are a passionate person. You see the emotional undertones that others miss. Compared to other people, you are sentimental. You allow yourself to feel everything. Believe that art should capture the beauty and mood of a moment. The best art speaks to your heart. It makes you smile, dream, or even cry.

You Are a MosaicYou are worldly and cultured. You draw inspiration from many sources. You appreciate vivid colors and busy scenes, but you like a bit of order too. You believe that art should have many layers. It should be beautiful up close and from afar. The best art gets more interesting the longer you look at it.

LMFAO. Well, well, well... I wonder how THIS happened: You Are Ceramics You are open to the world and it's possibilities. You are able to start something without knowing how it will end. You trust your intuition above everything else. Going with your gut often works out. You believe that every day objects can and should be art. The best art allows ordinary life to be more stylish and beautiful. ^^^^^ that is absolutely hilarious given that I am, in fact, majoring in ceramics. HAHAAAA.

using the clay is relaxing, but ceramics on the whole is not very relaxing when you have to figure out how/when you're going to get things fired. My school has 3 gas kilns, a soda kiln, 4 large electric kilns, and 3 small electric test kilns, and yet it is still a massive pain in the ass to sign out kilns. Then you have to deal with stacking the kiln, making sure that everything fits, and then firing the kiln. THEN, you have to figure out how you're going to glaze the piece, mix your glazes, then test fire your glazes, then glaze everything, and then you start all over again with the kilns.... signing them out, stacking them, firing, etc. All of this comes after the whole process of actually constructing your work. Now, had I been a painting major or illustration or whatever else... the process would be much more simple. You make the work and then you're done. With ceramics, you make the work... and then you're nowhere even near being finished with it. It gets extremely frustrating sometimes, especially when you have to fight for kiln space, as I have been doing a lot of recently because I have an upcoming gallery show that I'm trying to get shit ready for. Blahhhhhhhh.

Blahhhhhhhh. Yeah.. I guess that part of the process is pretty exhausting. But it must be rewarding when you have the pieces ready. How long has it taken you to create everything for the gallery? how often does things come out "wrong" so you have to redo them?
