In genetics we've been doing a lot of PCR (polymerase chain reaction), which is pretty much (in a nutshell) amplifying DNA so that it's ready to be sequenced. The procedure was invented by Kary Mullis who actually got the nobel prize in chemistry for it. But he's pretty crazy (probably from his constant use of LSD): he believes that HIV does not cause AIDS and that he was abducted by aliens! So winning the Nobel (in chem at least) doesn't exactly make you a genius.

But anyway, back to topic: this video is about PCR and it's really funny.
And apologies if you guys find it way too random, haha. But I've pretty much had the song stuck in my head all day. Mannnn.

ROFL, that is very true.. ... but PCR is a very useful technique.

I want to see the video, but my computer is messed up. (It takes me about an hour to download a youtube video.. )

Oh yeah, definitely. PCR is awesome. I just find the guy pretty funny. I can't even believe he was able to come up with such an idea. Maybe I should start some LSD use!

My favorite Nobel prize winner was one of the masspec guys. He had published one paper. He didn’t even have a PhD. That is pretty cool. (Japanese guy).
