I cannot remember if/how you can double/triple quote from different people on here, but anyway....
Yup, they do have quick lines in Canada so going there is stress free, haha. Although last time I was there the immigration guy kept asking me about my status in the US and he confused me completely. Usually they don't care. My dad is an electrical engineer & my mom an accountant but... initially my dad began working for a company that made medical equipment, but about 10 years ago they filed for bankruptcy and the boss sold what remained of the company to my dad. So that's what they've been doing for the past couple of years. However, just last week we had to, after a couple of long, hard months, merge with another company because the Chinese companies we buy from have been selling directly to the clinics/hospitals/etc (we're a distribution company, mostly to South America) and that kills us. So, this was pretty much the only choice my dad had. But I think it'll work out. At least, I'm hoping it does. They're really hard workers and awesome parents.
They're going to Cartagena and Bogota. If they go once I'm out of school I'm definitely tagging along! Haha. Toronto is REALLY nice. I've only been there once and loved it. You should check out Montreal too! That's where I grew up.... well, until I was 9, but it's a really nice place too. But if you ever do visit, winter is VERY cold up there, so maybe summer or spring might be better. Unless you don't mind the cold. I want to go to Vancouver; I've heard it's spectacular.
And Redd, I hope your friend is able to go then!! lol

Nope, only foreign languages are Spanish, French, Italian, and Chinese. I'm taking Italian and I love it.

If you ever get a chance, take a class. It's pretty easy, but nailing down the irregular verbs and past tense is a bit difficult. It's so much fun to speak it, it's very musical.

... this economical crisis is though for everyone.. I hope your dads company will be ok.
I think cold places are great if they involve snow, here we can have pretty mild winters, but it is about as dark as up in Alaska so it is pitch black if there are no snow.
where did you go after Montreal?

I miss snow so much! After Montreal I moved to South Florida and have been living here ever since. It's nice, but very humid. Especially in the summer.

I can't go to Italy this year. My mother won't sign my passport and until then I'm tied to the States. May go hang out with relatives in North Carolina for a few weeks over the summer though. They live two blocks from the beach, have wild horses on an island, and even find Civil War-era artifacts on another (they found a bottle of morphine with the drug still in it).
