When Rob replaced Newsted, I was a bit cautious with my will to accept him as the new bassist. But to tell you the truth I think he's a perfect replacement and maybe better than Newsted. Granite the world of Metallica bassists has changed several different times, but I feel rather strong and confident about this one.
So what are your thoughts on Metallica's new bassist: Robert Trujillo?

I liked him with Suicidal Tendencies and with Ozzy, he's a great bassist. The only song ive heard though is St. Anger, saw the video for it. Have to listen to the rest of the cd to really know if he's a good replacement for Newsted.

Well the bass on the Album is played by Bob Rock, so don't judge by that. The CD comes with a DVD that has them playing with him live in the studio (rehearsing songs for the tour), that will be a good indicator. I personally prefer his bass tone to Jason's. He has so much more bottom end.
