i hate them why does an artist have to sing someone else's song why cant they just make their own songs i hate cover songs just as much as i hate remixes i hate them to

i personally loooooooove jack off jill's cover of "lovesong" by the cure. i think it's one of the best songs ever. way better than the cure version. and i like the cure. a lot.

I have to completely disagree with you on that. Cover songs can be cool as hell, it all depends on who does the song and how they do it. I like it when the band covering the song changes the song around to fit their style.
Examples of great cover songs:
NIN- Get Down Make Love(a Queen Cover) Gov't Mule- She said, She said(a Beatles Cover) The Who- Young Man's Blues(a Mose Allison Cover) Devo- Working in a Coalmine(Lee Dorsey Cover) Primus- The Thing That Should Not Be(Metallica Cover) Metallica- The Wait(Killing Joke Cover)
:(William Shatner-Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds(The Beatles Cover, and if you have not heard this, you have to find it. It will make you pee your pants with laughter)
I could go on and on, but I won't.

the only cover songs i ever liked were rage against the machine's version of renegades of funk and alien ant farm's version of smooth criminal all the other cover songs suck
