I was a bit surprised about Francis "The Swamp Fox" Marion from The Patriot. Didn't know he had slaves and slaughtered Cherokee Indians. AND married his cousin. Ew.

where is battlefield earth?
Um, they're talking about movies based on true events/people. That's like putting Harry Potter on the list.

Man, Hollywood gets things so wrong sometimes. Still, I think some of those movies are good, regardless of their historical innaccuracies (Gladiator, 2001, The Patriot for example)

There's still hope!

On the other hand some true storys are so insane that people belive they are made up.

I don't mind bending it some, but to an extreme is ridiculous.

I don't care if they bend the truth if they willingly admit that their film isn't supposed to be an accurate portrayal of anything at all. So long as they get the basic details of the period ok. Like, for example, Gladiator is a great movie, and it isn't dampered by the fact that it took real characters and completely changed their stories. It got the details of the time period down fine. 10,000 BC, however, I might have some problems with.
