I'm kinda bummed by this. I really liked Dissection. And the weird thing is, this is pretty similar to when Dead(vocalist for Mayhem) killed himself back in the early 90's. maybe it is some kind of curse
It was another singer here that killed himself just last year as well.

The Cartoon Network Goes Heavy MetalLarissa Glasser of The Phoenix recently conducted an interview with Brendon Small and Tommy Blacha, creators of the upcoming cartoon series "Dethklok Metalocalypse" about a half-Norwegian/half-American black metal band called DEATHKLOK. Premiering this Sunday (August 6) at 11:45 p.m. on Adult Swim (the adult-oriented television programming block on Cartoon Network) and featuring voice cameos by METALLICA's James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett — along with members of ARCH ENEMY and NEVERMORE — "Metalocalypse" follows the mayhem surrounding the world's biggest band, and 12th-largest economy, DETHKLOK. They live in a gigantic upside-down dragon boat perched atop the fjords of Norway. They cause disaster, destruction, and bloodshed wherever they go. In an age where metal is king, DETHKLOK's business savvy trumps the world's most shrewd visionaries. But they're excessively dumb when it comes to the most rudimentary tasks. For example, they don't know how to make food for themselves — not even a sandwich. During one scene, guitarist Skwisgarr Skwigelf tries to make coffee with a toaster. Although they've outsold THE BEATLES, DETHKLOK are, Brendon Small promises, "Just a thousand times more dangerous and a billion times more stupid." "Ted Nugent once said that there's something inherently stupid about rock and roll," Blacha explained to The Phoenix. "I agree, but we aren't derisive of metal. For example, when we had Michael Amott [guitarist, ARCH ENEMY] come in to do voices for the show, it was really pleasing to have him tell us in his Swedish accent, 'I don't like it when people make fun of metal, but you guys know what you're doing.' He gave us this one head nod, and we were like, 'YES! That's exactly what we wanted.' " Read more at ThePhoenix.com. King Diamond Voices Character On 'Metalocalypse'KING DIAMOND is the latest metal musician to lend his voice to the cartoon series "Death Clock Metalocalypse". King Diamond recorded his part on Monday, August 21 and reportedly "kicked ass." Other musicians who have contributed to the series include Michael Amott (ARCH ENEMY), Warrel Dane (NEVERMORE), Steve Smyth (NEVERMORE), Jeff Loomis (NEVERMORE), Kirk Hammett (METALLICA) and James Hetfield (METALLICA). Check out images of Hetfield's and Hammett's appearance in the series, which premiered August 6 on Adult Swim (the adult-oriented television programming block on Cartoon Network), at Metallica.com. "Dethklok Metalocalypse" follows the mayhem surrounding the world's biggest band, and 12th-largest economy, the half-Norwegian/half-American black metal band DETHKLOK, according to ThePhoenix.com. Although they've outsold THE BEATLES, DETHKLOK are, according to show co-creator Brendon Small, "just a thousand times more dangerous and a billion times more stupid." KING DIAMOND (the band) is featured on the soundtrack to the motion picture "Clerks II", the 2006 sequel to Kevin Smith's 1994 movie "Clerks". The "Clerks II" soundtrack contains 11 music tracks (plus one bonus music track) from the movie, including two KING DIAMOND tracks — "Welcome Home" and "The Invisible Guests" — as well as 13 dialogue cues from the film. KING DIAMOND recently finished recording the drums, bass and rhythm guitars for its upcoming album, tentatively due in early 2007. The follow-up to 2003's "The Puppet Master" will contain 13 tracks (including an intro), five of which were written by the band's guitarist, Andy La Rocque. Frontman King Diamond will soon begin writing the lyrics for the album, which is being recorded in Dallas, Texas and at Los Angered Recording (owned by La Rocque) in Gothenburg, Sweden. KING DIAMOND last year completed a U.S. tour with NILE, BEHEMOTH and THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER. A live CD, "Deadly Lullabyes Live", was issued in 2004. KING DIAMOND current lineup: King Diamond - Vocals Andy La Rocque - Guitar Mike Wead - Guitar Hal Patino - Bass Matt Thompson - Drums

Christopher Walken To Play Ozzy Osbourne
Motley Crue lead singer Vince Neil told ABC News Radio in an exclusive interview that the 63-year-old Oscar-winning actor will make a cameo appearance as Osbourne in "The Dirt," a movie based on the band's controversial 2001 autobiography.
"How funny is that going to be," Neil told ABC's Al Mancini at the Opening of Vince Neil Ink, the singer's new tattoo parlor in Las Vegas.
Walken's press representatives did not immediately return a call to ABCNEWS.com for comment.
"The Dirt: Confessions of the World's Most Notorious Rock Band" set new limits in tell-all confessionals. The 448-page tome catalogues the drug and alcohol abuse, nasty infighting, and sex parties of Neil and band mates Tommy Lee, Mick Mars and Nikki Sixx.
The film, announced in April, is now in preproduction and is expected to be released in 2008 by Paramount and MTV. It's been billed as a true-life version of "This Is Spinal Tap."
Osbourne toured with Motley Crue and was friends with the band, and his antics, as recounted in the book, include snorting a line of live ants (while looking for a fix of cocaine) and taking LSD every day for a year "just to see what would happen."
Neil says that other stars are going to appear in the film as rock stars, including Val Kilmer as David Lee Roth. "We're doing big, giant cameos with those people," he says.
As for Neil and his Crue, they'll be played by unknowns.

Mindless Self indulgence offends Christians, fights iTunesMindless Self Indulgence has apparently managed to both offend "conservative Christian organizations" and annoy Apple's iTunes. The band opted to file their music under "Religious/Inspirational" due to what the band described as a "devout fan base and cult-like following." Because iTunes translated this as "Christian/Gospel," a number of Christians purchased the material - despite being marked as offensive - without hearing it first. In fact, the album reached #27 on the Christian/Gospel charts as a result. Those same Christians - apparently annoyed by the lyrical content of such inoffensive titles as "Pussy All Night," "2 Hookers And An 8 Ball" and "Panty Shot" - filed complaint with iTunes. The colorfully named vocalist, Jimmy Urine explained: It was iTunes, not us, that interpreted "religious" to mean Christian/Gospel. What is offensive to some people is obviously inspirational to others. To our fans this IS inspirational music. I have no intention of changing the genre listing of this album. No word on whether anyone has scheduled an iPod burning in their town square.

In Memoriam: Nidge Blitz (-2007)Nidge Blitz, founding guitarist/songwriter from long-running British punk/oi! act Blitz was tragically killed on Friday night. According to numerous reports, Nidge was struck by a car and killed on a highway outside of Austin, Texas. Nidge and his bandmates were in the midst of a 21 day tour, with just two days left. The booking agents responsible for the tour had this to say in his memory: We cannot speak highly of Nidge enough. He had no interest in the 'business' of punk. He was never concerned about how much money the band was getting paid nightly. He was more concerned with details like if the show was all ages and that the ticket price wasn't too high. He loved playing for the fans and it's a shame that his life has been cut so short, he will be missed. Blitz enjoyed success in England in the early 1980s and more recently their music was covered by both Rancid and the Distillers. Our deepest condolences to Nidge's family, friends and fans.
