Hmm, I read Stephen King books, but the most memorable characters are the villians I guess..but Johnny Smith from the book Dead Zone is good, plus its a tv show too. He can see a person's future by touching you.

Dean Moriarty. Actually, that is one of his many names. He is featured in several Kerouac books, and is based on Neil Cassidy, one of the heroes of the beat generation. He was a son of hobos, and a hobo himself. I'd reccomend reading On the Road, to anyone.
