Why don't you pick up where you left off? It's never to late to finish something you started. What was your book about?

I always start books...
but then i always stop...because they get stupid
The latest one.
When Kate woke up, she knew she wasn't in Sunnydale, California anymore. Everything was different where she was now. "Dad..." yawned Kate. "Dad...where are we? What time is it?" "Oh, good, you are up!" said her father enthusiastically. "Well, it is about 8pm and we are going to stop at a hotel in this city. We are in Nevada." Her father looked in the mirror and smiled. "Had a long nap there, didn't you?" "Yeah...i guess so," yawned Kate. "How much further until we get to Nebraska?" "Well we still got a bit of traveling to do," her father said with a thinking expression on his face. He scratched his head. "Oh…I think we got another two days drive." Kate sighed. "Oh Kate..."heaved her mother. "Don’t get an attitude.“ Kate’s mother popped open a can of beer and started to drink it. "Annie I think you should stop," said her father worriedly. "That is your fifth beer today!” "Oh what is it to you?" asked her mother, obviously getting drunk. "Well to begin with," started her father. "I am your husband and I care about you. Secondly, we have a child in this car who doesn’t want to see you drinking." "Daddy don't think for me," said Kate sleepily as she turned her head. She hated it when she got dragged into her parents fights. "It doesn't bother me.“ Kate closed her eyes and she felt like she wanted to drift back to sleep, away from all the fighting, and back in California. She then remembered when her father told her she would be moving. "Kate…I need to talk to you about something," said her father one night. "Its important." Her father sighed and sat down on her bed. He was ruffling his hands through his brown hair and his green eyes stared at Kate. "Sure dad," said Kate cheerfully. She had set aside her pencil and homework. Kate turned around in her chair and faced her dad. Seeing the expression on his face she knew something was wrong. "Dad what happened?" He didn't say anything. "Is everything okay, dad?" "You know that new job I was looking for?" he asked. Kate nodded. "Well...the good news is I found one!" "Great dad!" exclaimed Kate. Her expression changed to a frown. "Wait...then what is the bad news?" "This...this job is not…not here," answered her father at a loss for words. "It is in Nebraska." Kate looked as though Christmas had been cancelled. She felt the tears welling up in her eyes. "Kate I know.." He had reached over and pulled Kate into a hug. He then closed the door after about five minutes and left. Kate surged away from her memory. She opened her eyes and felt hot tears running down her cheek. She quickly wiped them off. Her parents were still fighting. "Look I can do whatever I want!" croaked her mother. "You are not the boss of me." Kate’s dad sighed and pulled over. "What'd you do that for?" Without answering, Kate’s dad grabbed the beer, tossed it out the window, and continued driving." "I said no drinking in the car!" yelled her father. No one spoke for about ten minutes. Kate’s mother had fallen asleep and was snoring very loudly. Kate closed her eyes and remembered telling her best friends about the move. "Kate?” questioned Lisa looking worried. "You have been really different the past two or three days. Tell Mark and me what is wrong." Kate, Lisa, and Mark were at Lisa's house in her bedroom. Before Kate could help it, she started to weep into Lisa’s arms. Mark looked around very worried. "I-I-I....a-am...m-m-m-oving away...n-next.....week,"sobbed Kate. Lisa looked like she was about to explode with sadness. She too, started to cry. Mark looked like he was going to cry, but held back his tears because he didn't want Kate to think he was a sissy. Mark had had a crush on Kate for the past year, but never told her. "Oh Kate!" Lisa cried. "No...no...i c-can't believe t-this! She continued to cry with Kate for nearly 10 minutes. Then Mark spoke up. "Kate...."said Mark looking sad and disappointed. "I am very sorry..." Kate surged away from her memory. She did not want to remember her friends being so sad. She opened her eyes and peered out her window. Everything was dark on the highway except for her cars headlights and a few passerby cars. Kate ran her hands up and down her arms because the car was cold. She felt something on her arm and it was the bracelet Lisa gave her as a going away gift. It was a very pretty bracelet, a silver chain with some charms on it. Before she let go of that memory, she remembered Mark. Right before Kate had moved, Mark told her how much she really like her. During a passing period, Mark guided Kate into the library and sat her down. "Kate I really think there is something you should know..."started Mark. He sighed a deep sigh as Kate looked deep into his brown eyes. "Kate...I have had a really big crush on you for the past year. I never had the guts to tell you until now." He stopped and picked something out of his pocket. “Just a little something to remember me by..." Kate had taken the small package and ran her fingers on it delicately. All of this had came as a big shock to her. She unfolded the package and gasped. Inside was a golden necklace that said "Kate" in a heart in he middle. "Mark..."she gasped. "How did you...when did you?" "My uncle owns a jewelry store downtown, “said Mark. "He said if I helped around the store he would give me a discount." He stared at her. "Go on take it. I got it for you. I wanted you to remember me." Kate looked at it. She put it around her neck. "I don't need a necklace to remember you." Kate leaned over and hugged Mark as close as she could. "I am going to miss you so much." "Me too Kate," cried Mark. "I'm going to miss you so much." Kate jolted away from her memory when she heard her dads voice. "We are at the hotel, Kate. Wait in the car." Her dad jumped out of the car and walked inside the hotel. He came out a few minutes later looked as happy as ever. "Okay lets go." Kate and her dad got their luggage and woke up her mother. They went into the hotel and checked into the room. Their room had two beds, both full sized beds. There was a television and a small bathroom. Kate’s mother fell onto a bed and fell asleep immediately. "You can have the bathroom first," offered her father pointing to the bathroom. "Go in, take a shower and i will use it when you get done. "Thanks dad, “said Kate gleefully. She went into the bathroom with her luggage, just a small backpack (the rest was in the moving truck), and picked hair gel and her toothbrush out of it. Kate took a shower as fast as she could, knowing her dad wanted to take a shower too. Kate changed into her pajamas and got out, all under less than fifteen minutes. When she got out, her mother was still asleep, and her father was watching TV. "I am out," said Kate. She climbed into her bed while her dad walked into the bathroom. Kate began to read a book that was very interesting. When her dad got out of the shower, Kate glanced at the clock. It read 10:04. "Kate there is something I need to talk to you about," said her father sitting next to Kate. "Sure dad,” said Kate as she set her book aside. "You have my full attention." "Kate you know how much I love your mother," began her dad looking at her mother. Kate nodded, though she did not understand what this was all about. "But you and I both know that...well...she is not the mother that you need. I am not the father you need either-" "Dad really I understand," interrupted Kate. "I know your work is important to you and I know you have to work long hours since mom quit working." Kate glanced over at her mother but quickly turned away. "No not about that," said her father. "About me and your mom fighting all the time. That is really not what you deserve and you and I both know that. "Dad what are you trying to say?" asked Kate. She looked straight into her fathers eyes and saw a look that she had never seen. Her father was sad. "Kate you need a better mother," finished her dad. "You deserve a better mother." Kate and her dads relationship had always been solid. They talked to each other about everything and anything. Kate suddenly grew angry at her mother. Her mother was making her beloved father sad. Kate’s relationship with her mom had always been rocky since the time she was 11 or 12. Now she was 14 and nothing had changed. Ever since Kate was little, she remembered her mother was always drunk. She remembered herself always playing with her dad, when her mother was out. Kate had a strong relationship with her father, and if they got a divorce, Kate knew she was going to live with her father. "Kate I knew I should have told you this sooner," heaved her dad. "Well, your mother and I are going to get a divorce. Your mother will be going back to California when the divorce goes through. I know how much you hate us moving, but if you want to move back, you would have to live with your mother. If you want to stay with me, you will live in Nebraska." Kate was speechless. Her dad left her and went to sleep. Kate could not get to sleep that night. After the divorce, she didn't know what to do. She badly wanted to stay with her father, but she also badly wanted to move back. The only thing she knew was her life was going to change seriously. Before she knew it, it was morning. Kate woke up, got dressed, and ate breakfast quickly with her parents. Then they hit the road again. Today, they planned to make it to make it to the edge of Colorado, almost right into Nebraska. Then they thought they would only need to drive another day before they reach Kennsworth Nebraska. Kate slept most of the rest of the way to Nebraska. When she woke up after three days of driving, she was there.
