Eh, I think the first rock band I liked was Linkin Park (SHUT UP, I WAS IN FIFTH GRADE). >.> They mean little, or even nothing to me now.
But now I'd have to say Falconer. The first metal band I began listening to, and definitely one of my favorite bands ever.

<--- still likes Linkin Park even though I think most of their new songs on their latest cd blows.
One of the first rock bands I started to like and still like is the Smashing Pumpkins.

Eh, I still kinda like their older stuff. >.>
There are some rock bands that I liked from when I was younger that I still like today: Chevelle, Tool, A Perfect Circle, Alice In Chains (although I think that their genre can be debatable), ect.

but for real, I would have to go with Tool. No! I lie! Grateful Dead. My father is a huge dead head, so I've been listening to them since the day I was born and I've loved them ever since. When I was a little kid my father promised me that he'd bring me to a Grateful Dead show when I turned 16, but then Jerry Garcia died in I believe it was '94. I was like 8 or 9 or something.
