I don't really like a lot of angry/agressive music... metal in particular drives me nuts, I prefer to hear people sing, not scream. That just sounds atrocious to me.
"Ænema" - Tool. I wouldn't necessarily call it aggressive, but it is definitely angry...

a good song is "Burnt Beyond Recognition" from Malevolent Creation. I <3 that song. "Crown of Horns" by Cryptopsy as well. I'd say "Shroud of Encryption" from Devourment as well. "Mass Strangulation" by Bloodbath(they're Swedes, so you might find a connection) "Death Bringer" by Dissenter, "One Shot, One Kill" by Dying Fetus, "Blacklist" by Exodus, "Angel of Death" by Slayer... more later

"How did you get a record deal again?!" it either depresses me or gives me a huge ass headache. I try to avoid any song (or band) with useless screaming... ;D ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Um... I have to think about this one. I don't really listen to "angry" music/songs.... but let me sleep on this...

When grouped together like that it's just like one large morbid paragraph. I don't know why I just am amused by reading it all at once like that "Mass Stragulation" , "Death Bringer", "Burnt Beyond Recognition". I don't know I'm high and easily entertained.

D= AND SONATA ARCTICA AREN'T GAY SAM, I KNOW YOU'RE GOING TO SAY THAT. Yeah, I'm okay with metal that is good, as in well-written and not generic, as long as they don't scream. The screaming metal just makes me feel like... I don't even know... like my head is going to explode. I am also not a fan of really fast ridiculous guitar solos. I can appreciate the talent that goes into it, becuase this kid I know zach LOVES to play like.. hour-long guitar solos when he's high and he is just absolutely incredible. I enjoyed when he did it because it was fascinating watching him go at it forever, but it's not something I would sit and listen to myself. That Sonata Arctica was tolerable, as in I didn't have to shut it off. I wouldn't say that I enjoyed it, or that I would ever feel the urge to listen to it again, but if I could have it on for more than 10 seconds without panicking and trying desperately to turn the sound off as quickly as possible, then that's saying something. It did sound a bit generic to me though, but again I don't listen to a lot of metal and am therefore no expert on the subject. But my boyfriend used to listen to a lot of metal and I think he'd probably say the same. Ugh, I used to HATE it when he would blast that shit all the time. He used to be in a metal band too *rolls eyes*. They were pretty well-known locally (Albany, NY), I guess... but thank god they ended or else I might have to go to shows and shit.... ugh. No fuck that I wouldn't, I'm an asshole like that. And about them not being gay......................... well..... they did have a keytar...........you must admit that is kind of gay

Yeah, I'm okay with like... a little bit of appropriately placed yelling (which differs from screaming significantly) but if the "singer" sounds like a shrieking goblin throught the entire song... or even at all for that matter... it's off and staying off.

THEY'RE NOT GAY! I'm glad you know that not all metal has screaming in it. I hate it when people think that and no matter how many songs you play for them they still think it's all screaming. I can understand not liking the more aggressive forms of metal. I used to hate death and black metal, now black is one of my favorite types of music. It takes some getting used to, but I honestly can understand why people wouldn't like it, and I respect it as long as they respect my music. Hm.... You might want to try out Angra then. They're another PM band that I like a lot. >.>

Kind of badass in a way, but a little gay too.... Btw, that little clip thingy in your little section under your posts makes me giggle. I've been meaning to tell that to you for a while. Especially the guy with the hat and cape. They look so funny when theres no music and it's entirely out of context. For some reason it reminds me of the wizard of oz??? I don't know why..... anyone else make that connection or is that just me?
