A badass gay keytar? I rarely make connections. Too lazy to. The guy in the witch hat is my favorite. He looks so stupid. Ahh, I love Immortal. <3

I tend to like Rage Against the Machine songs when I'm really energetic or angry.

Sometimes I get tired of their style though. It's unique to other bands, but pretty much all of their songs sound basically the same. And they all rant about political issues from a leftist point of view. Which is fine, I don't judge a band based on their political views, but that's all RATM ever talk about ever.

same here. I cannot stand when the singer screams throughout the entire song. I'm thinking... "How did you get a record deal again?!" it either depresses me or gives me a huge ass headache. I try to avoid any song (or band) with useless screaming... ;D ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Um... I have to think about this one. I don't really listen to "angry" music/songs.... but let me sleep on this... youtube.com/watch?v=h2SGIzjgXzIThis is metal. No screaming. I'm not joking either. Just watch, please? D= AND SONATA ARCTICA AREN'T GAY SAM, I KNOW YOU'RE GOING TO SAY THAT. I know they're not. I have two of their albums. and i know i'm late, but, yeah. Nevermore, King Diamond, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Iced Earth, Blind Guardian, Demons & Wizards, Therion, Alice In Chains, Cellador and others I can't name off the top of my head are bands I listen to, and with the exception of Therion(who are more operatic, but use death vocals in certain songs to convey a strength, if you will) that sing. Even old Opeth is pretty much acoustic prog metal, and the vocals are clean. on some of the later stuff, there's growling, but, eh. I run into this any time at work I talk about what I listen to. It's always "it's just a bunch of kids screaming that they hate their parents." It's not. Nevermore is probably one of the most talented musically and vocally talented bands around. I have spells where I sit around and listen to nothing but that band. But, when it comes to metal and aggressive songs, you just have to go death. plain and simple.

I know. I do listen to some "easy listening" if you will. I'm not big on prog, myself. Only a few bands that are labelled as that do I actually like. Dream Theater, I know, they're talented, I just can't get into them.

ha ha.. thats a music genre in sweden (progg). It was the "left communist movement" making music in the 70s. (Everyone should participate sort of.. even if they were no good or not),
most of it is complete crap. some is ok.
(this one is my fav.. it starts at 1.20. (its not very political though.. its about partying )

I'm assuming you're referring to progressive metal up above. I happen to like progressive rock quite a bit, on the other hand.

Dream Theater, I know, they're talented, I just can't get into them. I love Dream Theater, they're the only pure prog metal band I like. @ Sanna: Prog is short for progressive... I think I'm going to avoid those links. @ CCA: Yes, I was talking about prog metal. Prog rock is different from prog metal. Yes, they both have "progressive" in there, but they both belong to two totally different genres.
