Obama won... he won in maryland with such a high margin that it was like sandblasting a soup cracker... the McCain cracker didn't stand a chance. the worst asskicking was in D.C. though...Obama's 93% vs. McCain's 7%. someone vaporized the soup cracker the Yahoo! election map: news.yahoo.com/election/2008/dashboard

Oh I wish I could have voted. Either way I told my dad about the issues, got him interested, and he changed his vote to McCain.

Yeah, it's probably best to just avoid the argument, there's already on going on in the Talk section.

I wanted to vote. I'm not registered in MA, I'm registered in NY, and I was talking to my mom about coming home to vote and then she gave the phone to my father who didn't want me to come home and we got in a huge fight and he gave the phone back to my mom and then she and I got in a big fight about it and yeah they didn't want me to come home. By the time I found out that I couldn't go home it was too late for an absentee ballot. I was extremely pissed about it right up until the election happened and Obama won... then I didn't care so much anymore.

(even though it had a happy ending) I dont get your weired system, here it is very simple.
They send you everything you need in advance so you dont need to register, and in several different languages, in case you are not so good at swedish, and you can vote wherever you want, and you can also post your vote in case you live abroad.
